Verruca Treatment in Edinburgh & Haddington: Safe and Effective Solutions

One of the most common treatments we offer at Active Feet is verruca treatment. A verruca is a plantar wart most frequently found on the soles of the feet or in the toe area. They are easily passed on simply by walking barefoot across the same surface as someone with a verruca, and are most common in children and young adults.

The virus that causes a verruca is harmless, with the only issue arising when the wart begins causing pain or discomfort. This typically occurs when the verruca is located on a weight-bearing area of the foot. Many people, however, opt for verruca removal regardless to eliminate the chance of growth, spread, or because they can be unsightly.

Like many treatments for skin lesions, some minor discomfort may be experienced. Before treatment your podiatrist may decide to reduce the lesion with a blade. Pain levels vary from person to person but most people undergoing Swift liken it to a pain similar to an injection or a scratch, lasting 2 – 3 seconds then quickly subsiding.
This is dependent on how you respond to treatment. In most cases, you may need more than one treatment 3 to 4 weeks apart depending on your body’s response. Your Podiatrist will discuss this with you at your appointment.
